My Greatest Diablo Memories

Ah we have only great things to say about the Diablo games, great memories..

I remember it like yesterday, it was a cold winter morning, snowing outside and I was playing Diablo2 SinglePlayer with a Necromancer in my warm place on my laptop. It was a great feeling and i was on top of the world.

What are (for me) the Greatest Diablo Memories ?
( these are not ordered by awesomeness 🙂 )

  • That feeling you got when you found an Unique Item. You got this rush and satisfaction like no other when you pressed the “alt” key to see that lovely unique color (gold)
  • My First Hardcore run. Well how can i forget that one, i was simply afraid the idea that i could loose my character FOREVER was too much for me. Of course i got used to it and started to like/love Hardcore Diablo (it was like a drug)
  • Hell Mode. Both in Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 HELL was The greatest place. It was hard (specially in D1) and very rewarding after completing. The first time i reached Hell in both games I was on top of the World. Diablo1 was special with those impaled bodies and the Bone Staircase… amazing …
  • The Butcher. Oh my god was he “horrible”. That is the scariest single moment in the History of Diablo. Even after all these years some (me) are scared to open that door. Your heard rushing, your blood pumping and BAM you are dead ! That set was a work of art!
  • The Cinematic. When i first saw the Diablo Movies (D2) i was stunned… Even now i have no words to describe that feeling …. genius
  • Duriel was one of the hardest bosses in my opinion. You know why, because of the FREEZING ! Oh how many times i found myself in front the screen watching my frozen character being battered to death by that beast.
  • The First time i completed the game (in Normal). It was a great feeling and i almost could not believe i had done it. A great game that required skill – patience and luck 🙂

The list can go on but there is no point…. you already know Your greatest memories.
Both Diablo games were a great experience and i hope Diablo III will be the same. I want to look back in a couple of years and think the same about D3. I want to have great memories playing this game

The greatest Diablo2 Commercial

This was the greatest D2 promo clip ever made in my opinion.
Why?
Because this is how we all felt, we wanted to play this game every day, we wanted to BE that character.
All diablo games had this magic, the power to make the fans identify with the characters. In your dreams you actually thought you were a Barbarian battling hordes of monsters.
I hope D3 has this “ability”

hmm, I got the chills when i saw this again

For the guys that did not play D2

There are a lot of people out there that watched the Diablo3 cinematic, photos and artwork and got really hooked. They want to play it and get the feel of the Diablo World.

Only one thing is wrong, they did not play D1 or D2 in the past, and now they are curious. They are searching the forums, gameplay videos on youtube and stories about the epic battles in the previous games.

My thoughts … guys, play the original games. Buy the Battle Chest, you will get Diablo, Diablo II,and the expansion :Lord of Destruction (it is really cheap now). Buy it and taste the blood and hack-and-slash action.

One thing i have to say to the ones that never tried this game, it is VERY different from WoW. This is a fast paced insane game but it must be carefully planned. There are a huge number of character builds out there, some are good but most are bad, so watch out.

Also by playing the games (at least D2) you will know a bit of history, you will have a background to start D3 when it comes out. Add this with Cain’s journal on diablo3.com and you will be able to follow the storyline.

The old D1 and D2 games are classics and they deserve a place in your game collection

The Diablo Timeline

I love a great game community, and I love when the developers and game companies make “presents” for the fans. Here is one of them related to the Diablo Universe

  • Do you want to know the chronological background of Sanctuary ?
  • The history the Sanctuary ? Where it all began ?
  • How the Prime Evils got out of the Burning Hells in the first place ?
  • We all do, and Blizzard knows that, so they built the Diablo Timeline where they explain some of the events that took place in the old days. They track the history from the very beginning (D1) until the end of the D2 game
There you will get more information about Diablo, Baal, Mephisto and the hero Tyrael. I will say no more, just read the timeline and feel the shivers running through your spine.

Rise up Diablo Fan! and stand by your favourite game!
