I love it when game developers interact with the fans and Blizzard knows how to do this very well . They are the masters of hype
On the Blizzard Podcast site you can hear the developers speak on what we all love – the games .
They speak about Starcraft II , World of Warcraft and of course : Diablo 3. They speak about new races , the game world and what is important – the game release dates and the overall progress

Also you can download the episodes to listen when you wish

I am still waiting for a podcast on the races in Diablo III 🙂

“I came to see firsthand the barbarians, those near-legendary, immense, relentless, dual-wielding furies of combat dwelling upon their sacred Mount Arreat.”

One of the most loved characters in Diablo 2 comes back with more power than ever .
They protect the sacred Mount Arreat , this is their duty and they stand by it
They believe that if they are not buried properly or they don’t protect the mount they will be dishonored and the spirit will roam the land for eternity .

Unfortunately the home of the Barbarians was destroyed at the end of Diablo2 and they scattered , no one knows if they still exist as a race and that would be very sad indeed.
The loss of Mount Arreat was a crushing blow for the barbarians .

In Diablo III we will be able to play with this character and as we saw from the trailers it will be mind blowing . Blizzard was able to take the barbarian to the next level and enhance every skill
Among the abilities we can see :

• cleave
• ground stomp
• leap
• sesmic slam
• whirlwind

The new Character in Diablo 3
There are many legends about the Witch Doctor and all say it
was a feared creature from the umbaru race. The legend says that he can harvest the power of the spirits and diseases
A few of his abilities :

• Firebomb
• Locust Swarm
• Horify
• Mass Confusion
• Soul Harvest

We can clearly see from the Gameplay video that this is one powerful character and if used correctly nothing can stand in his way
This reminds me a bit of the Necromancer from Diablo 2 .. oh the power you had with the minions , the golems and the curses
Not sure if i will play this character first but it is on the ToDo list for sure

We can only stare at them and maybe drool ?! The quality is good and
they where taken during gameplay . We can see the Barbarian and Witch Doctor in action , and witness the special effects and game physics (that wall collapsing 🙂 )

Diablo III will continue the story 20 years after the events in Diablo II . The name of the place is Sanctuary , a fantasy world that has gone dark . The hero will have many spells and abilities to aid him in his battles with the dark armies .

The Heroes
All the “old” hero classes have been kept in the game and enhanced and diversified . This way we should be able to create unique characters , and more combinations that Diablo 2 (is that even possible ? 🙂 ) This is what i loved about this world , even on BattleNET where thousand of people played the game you would rarely see someone with the same specs as your character . We were all “uniques” out there and D3 promises us that same feeling
Two more characters will be inserted in the world of diablo , one of them being the Witch Doctor that has huge potential in my opinion , the Gameplay Trailer says it all
One new addition is the ability to choose your characters gender

The World
Although Diablo 2 was linear , you got that feeling that you can do anything you like (as long as you go forward) . Well Blizzard has “fixed” this making the D3 world larger and more complex . Many additional quests will make your life in the game more fun than ever and you will not be forced to stick with the main storyline all the way to the end . This is a big plus in my opinion

Another plus is the fact that you will be able to interact with the environment , create obstacles and ways to block your opponents . Also the ability to create additional routes in your way to the slaughter

The best part ?
BattleNET – that world where all the players meet and fight either between them or in cooperation bringing the game at a new level
Constant upgrades and interaction with the Blizzard crew will make this one great experience
There is not much info around at this time , i am sure in the future more will be revealed

D3 will be linked to D2 by familiar faces , the hero will encounter characters like Deckard Cain and many many more (so I heard) . Also familiar places like Tristram and other towns but the main attractions will be the new areas of the Sanctuary world

The hype is building and we all are hungry for more information
